Two years ago, I only earned an honorable mention at the 18th International Microelectronics Olympiad, missing a medal by just 2 points. That near-miss proved to be a turning point for me. It motivated me to prepare even more intensely.
At the 20th International Microelectronics Olympiad, with months of focused study, I tackled the contest’s broad scope – analog and digital electronics, semiconductor physics, mathematics, and programming. Studying these advanced topics was a huge challenge, but I was determined to tackle them. Out of more than 1,000 international participants, I was thrilled to reach the final 34 competitors.
In the grueling four-hour final exam of 21 problems, I solved 18 of them. When my name was announced as the gold medalist, I was speechless – it truly felt life-changing. The International Microelectronics Olympiad rekindled my passion for engineering; as dramatic as it sounds, it saved my life.
Now, standing on that podium has given me renewed confidence. Holding that medal has given me hope and renewed purpose. I plan to focus on projects bridging power electronics and microelectronics, hoping this victory marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter in my career
